St. Patricks Day Update

The parade is still on for tomorrow. Here is some FYI about tomorrow. The city will be setting up tents along the parade route for spectators to gather under due to the inclement weather that is expected. Now where and how many remains to be seen but you may be able to find some info about the tents or shelters along the parade route over on the official Roanoke parade link to the left of this post.

Captain Wines Jr. will still be at the helm of the 1934 Engine and Brad Glidden (aka Opie) will be at the helm of the tractor with the trailer being pulled behind for anyone wanting to ride, kids especially. There should be plenty of riding room both on the engine and hay wagon.

There will be food and beverages at the Union Hall following the parade for all to attend. There will be BBQ chicken cooked by Nathan Foutz, Corned Beef and Cabbage, and pizza. Alcohol on premises along with a variety of sodas and water to wash it all down.

There will be miniature ponies for the kids and guys of 9B. Also on site will be a inflatable playground for the kids to enjoy. So you might want to bring a change of clothes for those that decide to get out and enjoy the ponies and inflatable playground. Note: There will be no 8 seconds riding , barrel racing, or roping contest tomorrow, sorry for any disappointment but we need to try and keep the injuries to a minimum.

After having a bite to eat, washing it all down and enjoying the company of each other many will be making their way downtown to enjoy the rest of the evening celebrating St. Paddy's day.

Hope to see you there.

Holy cow! The weather SUCKED but we had a very very good time. I didn't think the turn out would have been that good. Thanks to Capt. Wines and all who helped. Do it again next week.
